Butterflies, Birds and Bees…Oh My! If you are fond of these charismatic pollinators and want to see more of them in your water-wise garden, this is the event for you.
Join Daily Acts for this informative evening, where we will learn from local experts how to build habitat in our gardens to support pollinators and other wildlife. With presenters from three amazing organizations – the Sonoma County Master Gardeners, Native Songbirds Care & Conservation and the Sonoma County Bee Keepers Association there is sure to be something for everyone! The talk will be followed by a tour of the new Petaluma Library garden which incorporates many water-wise, habitat providing plants.
Speakers:
Suzanne Clarke, a Sonoma County Master Gardener, will focus on how to incorporate nectar and larval food sources into our gardens to provide habitat for our local butterflies.
Veronica Bower, Director of Native Songbird Care & Conservation, will detail how to create habitat for nesting songbirds which can also be a huge help with pest problems among other garden benefits.
Ellen Sherron, with the Sonoma County Beekeepers Association, will discuss the big issues facing bees and how to choose four-season flowering plants to support their health.
