Food From the Garden Year Round

August 25, 2018 @ 9:00 am

| $38 – $48

Now is the time to plant for many months of harvest! With attention to timing and other details, fall and winter gardens can be very productive with relatively less effort. Learn about crop scheduling, selection, soil preparation, cover crops, mulches, crop rotation and winter care for fruit trees and other perennials. Good soil care over winter can improve it significantly! Tips for getting cool season crops established in late summer as well as making the most of the current harvest, will also be discussed.

Instructor: Wendy Krupnick has grown food crops for over 40 years. She was senior horticultural advisor for Shepherd’s Garden Seed Company, worked on several organic farms and garden projects, coordinated the market garden at SRJC’s Shone Farm and is Adjunct Faculty in the SRJC Sustainable Ag program.
