Autumn's Garden

I grow a variety of vegetables and herbs in raised beds, and we also have about 15 fruit trees as well as berry and grape vines on our property.  Some of these are new and still getting established, but our older trees--an apple, white peach, and fig--are very productive.  My husband and I have been learning to can recently so that we can preserve a lot of our extra food; we also use a dehydrator.  Last summer I enjoying taking extra produce to my neighborhood's produce swap.  All the food we grow is organic, and we compost our veggie scraps for some additional fertilizer for our plants.  I've tried to plant a lot of bee- and butterfly-attracting plants, and I also like to leave a lot of my seed-producing plants (food and ornamental) in the winter instead of cutting them down to provide food for birds.  I'll add some pictures soon.
