Lynn & Rich's On-Going Adventure

We previously had 3 small raised beds which we removed in the spring of 2010.  They were constructed with pressure-treated wood that was not conducive to our "organic" way of gardening.   We enlarged the entire space by rototilling a patch of land 30 ft long by 6 ft wide....situated between the fruit trees.   Last year's crop did not go too well for us.  A vegetable garden requires "attention"...enough was not given.  We spent almost all of the summer in Tahoe and the weeds took over the veges.  This year we're trying a "weed cloth" to see if we can change the outcome --- along with more dedication on our part.

For the second time we are attempting our own "starts" of basil, tomatoes, crookedneck squash, lettuce varieties, pole beans, sunflowers, black-eyed susan and peppers ---    We are very pleased with the babies that have arrived.    We have great hopes for a super harvest to share with friends, family and the community...It's a delight!!
