A Harvest Celebration - Food Tasting at Luther Burbank Home & Gardens
Attend a food tasting event in our courtyard Saturday, November 19, 2pm-4pm. Join local chefs John Franchetti (Rosso Pizzeria and Wine Bar) and John Lyle (Kendall Jackson) who will serve “tastes” using produce introduced or developed by Luther Burbank. They will also talk about how Burbank’s work inspires their menus. They have great stories to tell about their experiences working with local farmers using the varieties of food grown in Sonoma County and their appreciation for the contributions of Luther Burbank. You may also tour a portion of the Gardens with a docent to view some of Burbank’s edible plants and fruit trees. You’ll learn about the many edibles developed, hybridized or introduced by Burbank including the plumcot, quinoa, kiwi, and quince.
